Just thinking about it makes our mouth water. It is clearly our favorite restaurant on the Coast. La Purísima in Isla Cristina (about a 30 minutes drive from the Villa) is located in a small, typical Andalusian square, near the fishing port, surrounded by fish canneries, many of which are still active. The menu is made up of incredibly fresh products from the region and prepared by food lovers. Mojama, morillo or tataki of tuna, scallops with garlic, selections of Iberian hams, cod cramble, squid with parsley, octopus cooked over a wood fire, barbecued caramelized pork, croquetas of the house...
Beyond the exceptional menu, renewed according to the seasons, it is the place and the atmosphere that we like. Three kind of "old-looking" rooms, in which old photos of the city and local maritime life are hung. Large shelves where you can take wines and traditional products to put on the table and to enjoy them as take-aways. On sunny days (that is to say almost all the time), tables are arranged in the small square. To discover the Purísima, the best is to discover their website.
